CZ rimfires run for very long time. Luckily, when it comes to magazines, you can use the new ones on old rimfires as well - as long as the caliber is 22 LR. Because for example 22 WMR [magnum] have different housing for new models (CZ 457) and for old models.
Types of CZ rimfire magazines in 22 LR caliber
Today there are two types of old CZ rimfire magazines. Do not get afraid that on the package is written that these are for CZ 457 as they will work on older 22 LR rimfires too.
CZ nowadays makes the following types of LR mags:
-
5 round polymer magazine
-
10 round polymer magazine
-
15 round polymer magazine
-
25 round polymer magazine
-
5 round steel magazine
-
10 round steel magazine
Other useful accessories
Bigger issue is another accessories for older CZ rimfires. Although 22 LR magazines work still the same on new models as on old models, other items are not necessarily the same in this aspect. For example scope bases [picatinny rails] are different for old CZ rimfires, despite the fact that they may seemingly be the same dimensions - that is 11mm wide dovetail. Further below is an overview of how sutations as these can be solved
Other accessories, except of products that are generally universal, have to be made specifically for the model. For example lighter trigger springs, sights, trigger guards, or charging handles.
Mounting a scope to older CZ rimfires
If you have an older CZ rimfire and have a difficult time finding a scope base / picatinny rail, you can get a scope mount that attaches directly to dovetail instead.
The thing is that scope bases are unique for each of the rimfire lines given the ejection window. However, scope mounts / dovetail scope rings get attached directly to the dovetial. Thanks to that you can position them as needed and adjust to the differences in ejection window by yourself.
