A cheek rest looks really good on a rifle, but it is definitely not just an aesthetic accessory. Especially if you use a scope with a large objective lens, you most likely will not be able to do without a cheek rest. Why? And what all can a cheek rest help you improve on your rifle?

Cheek rest as a necessity for accuracy and comfort

When you mount a scope and take aim as you are accustomed, you will find that the axis of the scope is higher. To see it level, you must lift your face from the stock. This is, however, considerably uncomfortable and accurate and fast aiming becomes problematic.
  • The cheek rest adjusts the height of your head into the correct position relative to the axis of the scope.It thus eliminates parallax error.
  • By leaning your face comfortably, you relieve the neck muscles.
  • A firm face support stabilizes the entire weapon and enables accurate and confident shooting.
