A compensator is an excellent tool for regulating powder gases generated during a shot. These gases result in muzzle flip and recoil. Both of these undesirable effects are effectively corrected by the installation of a compensator, which directs gases upward or to the sides through openings.
What improvement a compensator brings
Weapon stabilization – the weapon does not jump, allowing you to track the bullet impact through the scope.
Faster follow-up shot – you do not have to aim again and search for the target.
Recoil reduction – you will appreciate this especially with larger calibers.
Protection of the barrel against mechanical damage.

For the installation of a compensator, you need a thread on the barrel
In order to equip your CZ with a compensator, there must be a thread on its barrel. It is usually hidden under a cap, which you simply unscrew.
You will mostly find a thread on the barrels of CZ rifles and tactical models, but it is not a rule:
Modern CZ 457 and CZ 600 – they usually have a thread; however, verify if it is the correct thread for the given compensator.
CZ Scorpion and Bren 2 models – the thread is standard, but verify if it is the correct one for the given compensator.
TIP: If the thread is missing on the weapon, a gunsmith can additionally mill it for you, or you can replace the barrel.
And you also need the correct thread
Threads on individual models are not the same. The reason is different calibers and the firepower of the weapon. What is sufficient for a rimfire rifle would be weak for a centerfire rifle.

American vs. Varmint: different profiles for rimfire rifles
This issue concerns the CZ 457 rimfire rifles, which are produced with various barrel profiles.
The American type barrel is thinner, lighter, with a smaller outer diameter. The Varmint barrel, on the other hand, is heavy and thick-walled.
Both compensators fit both barrels; it is primarily an aesthetic matter so that the compensator aligns correctly with the barrel.
For other models, follow the thread and caliber
You can choose a compensator for CZ 600 rifles and CZ Bren and Scorpion tactical models according to the thread and caliber.

Yes, you can manage to install the compensator yourself if your weapon has a thread.
