The CZ 457 is a bolt action rimfire rifle in .22 LR, .17 HMR and .22 WMR. It is popular for training, hunting and rimfire precision competitions, and you can change almost everything on it, from the stock to the trigger. You can choose original CZ parts and parts from Position 7, JK-N, Tactical Evo, LPA, CJ Manufactory, Contessa, Toni System, Artipel and Davika.

Stock

CZ makes original replacement stocks from the many CZ 457 versions, such as the American, AT-ONE, Ergo, Jaguar, Lux, MTR, Premium, Range, Royal, Scout, Synthetic, Thumbhole and Varmint. The AT-ONE has an adjustable cheek piece and butt pad. For a higher cheek position, Artipel makes cheek rests that raise the cheek by 20 or 28 mm. A CZ rubber butt pad and an Artipel leather butt pad change the length of pull.

Scope mounting

The CZ 457 has an 11 mm dovetail. You can mount a scope directly with JK-N dovetail rings in 1 inch or 30 mm, or fit a Picatinny rail first. Rails come from JK-N in steel, flat or with 15, 20, 25 or 35 MOA, from CZ and Toni System in aluminium, and from Contessa in steel. The left hand CZ 457 needs a left hand rail, which JK-N makes flat or with 25 MOA. The CJ Manufactory steel base converts the dovetail to the Blaser interface. For a red dot without a rail, the Vector Optics universal mount fits the dovetail directly.

Trigger spring kit

The CJ Manufactory spring kit reduces the pull down to 0.5 kg, but at the lowest setting the rifle can fire by itself, for example when it falls, so use it with care.

Magazines

Original CZ magazines for .22 LR hold 5, 10, 15 or 25 rounds, in polymer or steel. For .17 HMR and .22 WMR there are 5 and 10 round magazines. The Position 7 aluminium magazine holds 13 rounds of .22 LR, gives you 12+1 for PRS rimfire stages, and has witness holes. Position 7 also makes colour base pads, one of them adds 2 to 3 rounds and comes with an extended spring.

Bolt, magwell and controls

For faster bolt work you can choose CZ bolt knobs in duralumin, steel, polymer or wood, or the oversized Position 7 Acorn knob. The Position 7 aluminium magwell kit replaces the factory plastic magwell and includes an extended magazine release. Tactical Evo makes a duralumin trigger guard with a Cerakote finish.

Muzzle, sights and care

CZ makes compensators for the American and Varmint barrels. For iron sights you can choose LPA adjustable front sights or CZ fiber optic sights. Position 7 makes a bore guide that keeps solvents away from the trigger and a bolt case that lets you store the bolt decocked. Tactical Evo makes a mirage band and steel M-Lok weights.

Slings and spare parts

Original CZ slings for the CZ 457 and CZ 600 come in nylon, leather or tweed with a non-slip rubber inside, and CZ makes classic and trigatti sling attachments. Original CZ spare parts include screws, pins and springs of the action, the trigger guard, the stock insert, the magazine frame and the complete magwell. The part number in the name matches the parts list in your user manual.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Picatinny rail to mount a scope on my CZ 457?

No. You can use dovetail rings directly on the 11 mm dovetail. A Picatinny rail gives you more choice of rings and lets you choose an incline.

Which magazine should I choose for my CZ 457 in PRS rimfire?

The Position 7 13 round aluminium magazine. It holds 12+1 rounds, has witness holes and is easier to handle on bags and barricades.

Does a CZ 457 rail fit my left hand rifle?

No. The left hand CZ 457 needs a left hand rail. JK-N makes left hand rails, flat and with 25 MOA.
