Sights are one of the most important accessories for any handgun. And it is not different with CZs.
The ability to aim fast in bad light conditions thanks to tritium capsules in the sights, or to find quickly the front sight thanks to shining fiber optics. Those are crucial for being able to always hit the target.
What type of sights are there
The classic grouping of sights is as follows:
-
night sights - those are equipped with tritium rods;
-
competition sights - those are usually equipped with fiber optic rods that shine in good light conditions;
-
classic sights - whether adjustable or fixed, those are sights that are either blank, or with white dots / lines, or even luminescent sights.
Compatibility of sights
The compatibility of CZ pistol sights depends mainly on the dovetail cut. Luckily CZ uses the same dovetail cuts among many models from the same model line.
We can group the sights into these compatibility groups:
Sights from these models can be used on following models: CZ 75B, CZ 75 P-01, CZ 75 Compact, CZ 75 SP-01, CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical, CZ 85B, CZ 97B and others.
The front sight in this category is always held by a front sight pin.
If you own an older CZ 75 pistol, please first check with us at info@cz-parts.com whether or not the sights will actually fit your model. Some older versions have different type of front sight mounting, and thus they are not compatible with the new-made sights.
Sights from these models can be used on following models: CZ Shadow 2, CZ Shadow 2 Compact, CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow.
The front sight in this category is always held by a front sight pin.
As we also write in the product description of these sights, if you have CZ Shadow 2 Orange, the front sight mounting mechanism is different - instead of pin it is fixated by a screw from the top.
Sights from these models can be used on following models: CZ TS 2, CZ TS 2 Racing Green, CZ TS 2 Deep Bronze, CZ 75 Tactical Sports and CZ TS Czechmate.
The front sight in this category is always held by a front sight pin.
As we also write in the product description of these sights, if you have CZ TS 2 Orange, CZ TS Orange or CZ TS Czechmate, the front sight mounting mechanism is different - instead of pin it is fixated by a screw from the top.
Sights from these models can be used on classic versions of the following models: CZ P10C, CZ P10F, CZ P10S and CZ P10F in .45 ACP.
The front sight in this category is always held by a front sight screw from the top.
Although the dovetail cut is the same for classic CZ P10 models as for optics ready CZ P10 models, the sights from classic models cannot be used on optics ready models.
The reason is that OR models have the rear sight dovetail cut moved further to the back of the slide, and thus having less space behind it. And so if you take sights from CZ P10 and install it to CZ P10 Optics Ready, these sights will hang over the slide.
Sights from these models can be used on the following models: CZ P-07 and CZ P-09.
The front sight in this category is always held by a front sight screw from the top.
Sights from these models can be used on the following models: CZ Shadow 2 Kadet, CZ 75 SP-01 Kadet, CZ P-07 Kadet and CZ P-09 Kadet.
The front sight in this category is always held by a front sight screw from the top.
If you move the CZ fully adjustable Kadet rear sight to the lowest possible position, it can be colliding with the hammer. Thus if you know you will need to keep the rear sight blade as low as possible, make sure to select the LPA Kadet rear sight instead of the CZ Kadet rear sight.
Installation of sights
For installation of sights we highly recommend visiting a gunsmith, or at least using professional sight pusher tool.
In each case, before installing the adjustable sight yo ushall open it and remove the springs. So that when the mounting is going on, you do not damage the internal screws and springs.
The rear sight would then not work properly. Once the rear sight is installed, you shall put all the springs back in.
