If you got yourself an optics ready CZ model - be it from the Shadow 2 family or CZ P-10 family - you will need to get an optic plate in order to mount a red dot to the gun.
What is the purpose on optic plate
Each gun uses different mounting pattern and also each red dot uses different footprint pattern. And for that reason you need to have an optic plate - to make the red dot fit the mounting patterns on each of the handguns.
CZ at the moment makes two types of mounting patterns for optic plates:
All models within these two groups share the same mounting plates.
Compatibility with CZs
Compatibility of the plates is as follows:
CZ Shadow 2 optic plates can be used on the following CZs:
-
CZ Shadow 2 OR
-
CZ Shadow 2 Compact
-
CZ Shadow 2 Orange OR
As long as you have one of these models, you can use the same plates.
CZ P-10 optic plates can be used on the following CZs:
-
CZ P-10C OR
-
CZ P-10C OR SR
-
CZ P-10F OR
-
CZ P-10F OR SR
-
CZ P-10S OR
Similarly as with Shadow 2 plates, as long as you have one of these models, you can use the same plates within the group.
Compatibility with red dots
You can find full compatibility list of different footprints here: red dot plates & mounts compatibility guide.
The most popular footprint is Trijicon RMR footprint, which is also shared with many other red dots incl. Holosun 407C, Holosun 507C, Holosun 507Comp and others.
We have currently available optic plates with the following footprint standards:
-
Trijicon RMR footprint [also for Holosun 407C / 507C]
-
Vortex Venom footprint
-
Holosun K-series footprint
-
Shield RMSc footprint
-
C-More RTS footprint
-
Leupold DPP footprint
-
Aimpoint Acro footprint
-
Holosun 509T footprint
Installation
Installation is very simple and can be done by yourself at home, unless you are really not technical type.
You just have to 1. unscrew the factory screws holding the slide cover, 2. remove the cover, 3. place into the slide cut the plate (in the correct orientation), 4. place blue locktite on the screws that come with the plate, and 5. screw in the fixation screws.
Once the plate is firm in its place, you can continue with installation of a red dot to the plate. Bear in mind, the screws that come to you together with the plate are to be used for fixation of the plate to the slide. Screws that hold the red dot to the plate are supposed to come together with the red dot sight.
Mounting a red dot to non-optics ready CZ
If you have a classic CZ, meaning CZ without the optics ready cut in the slide, you still can get a red dot to your gun. However, instead of optic plate you will need a red dot mount.
These red dot mounts are designed to function as a replacement of a rear sight in most cases. You can also meet side red dot mounts, but those are designed primarily for CZ TS models, which have already cut on the side of the frame, and thus installation is easily possible.
At the moment we have red dot mounts for CZ models:
