After getting a handgun, purchasing a good quality holster is necessary. How else are you going to carry it around? Whether at the shooting range or for everyday carry.
Below we go over few of the main things to consider when getting a holster.
Material of holster
First main question to consider is material of the holster. Although there are more materials to consider except of kydex and leather [for example polymer], these two are the most popular and also the best ones.
Whether you go for leather holster or kydex holster is then completely up to you.
The main advantage of leather holster is its comfortability and traditional looks. The negativity is that it does not hold your handgun so firm - it does not "lock" it in as the kydex holster does.
Advantage of kydex holster is the fact that it locks the handgun to some extend, and you have to push the gun more to pull it out of the holster. On the negative side, its less comfortable for everyday carry.
Type of holster [OWB or IWB?]
Another main question to consider is whether your holster will be OWB or IWB.
OWB stands for outside the waistband holster and it means exactly as it sounds - the holster is on the out side of your waistband. It is more comfortable to wear this way but it can be visible that you wear one.
IWB stands for inside the waistband holster and you will be wearing it inside of your pants. The negative side of this holster is that it can be slightly uncomfortable for larger pistols. The big positive side is that it is 100% concealed.
Red dot compatibility
As red dot sights are getting more and more popular, you can find here also more and more holsters that are red dot compatible.
Usually that means that the holsters have a slight cut that allow it to accomodate a handgun with red dot installed on it.
Whether it is an optics ready model using an optic plate, or a classic model using a red dot mount - it will fit.
Getting a light?
We have available only holsters that fit the factory models, possibly equipped with red dot sight.
However, if you want to get a flashlight to your CZ pistol, you will need to get a custom made holster made specifically for your CZ model and for the flashlight that you intend to use.
Because there is not one common shape of flashlight, it has to be made piece by piece for specific models.
