Grips change how your CZ sits in your hand. A different shape, texture or thickness can give you a firmer hold, better control in fast shooting, or simply a better fit for the size of your hand. Heavy grips also add weight to the frame. You can choose from original CZ grips and from grips by Toni System, Lok, Armanov, KMR, Eemann Tech, Boss Components, Manul, Ascalon Arms, Strike Industries and Magpul.

Grips for your model

Grips must match the frame. Many full size CZ pistols share one frame shape, so they share grips. The CZ 75, CZ 75B, CZ 75 SP-01, SP-01 Shadow, Shadow 2, TS 2 and CZ 75 Tactical Sports all take the same full size grips. The Shadow 2 Compact and Carry, the CZ 75 P-01 and CZ 75 Compact, and the CZ 97 each have their own. Open the collection for your pistol:

Long or short grips

On the full size frames and on the Shadow 2 Compact, Carry and P-01, the grips come in two lengths:

If you plan to add a magwell later, you can buy short grips now and add the magwell from Magwells at any time. You can also get a set of short grips and a magwell that match in shape and finish. Lok makes Gridlok sets in aluminium or brass for the Shadow 2, Shadow 2 Compact and Carry, and TS 2. Boss Components makes a Palm Swell set from G10 and aluminium for the Shadow 2. Toni System makes polymer sets for the Shadow 2 Compact and Carry, one of them with base pads.

Materials

The material decides the weight, the feel and the look of your grips.

  • Aluminium grips are rigid and light. Most of them have a hard anodized finish. Aluminium grips come from CZ, Toni System, Lok, Armanov, KMR and Eemann Tech. CZ also makes duralumin grips in the retro style of the original CZ 75.
  • Brass grips add the most weight. More weight in the frame reduces muzzle movement, which is why brass grips are popular in competition. Brass grips come from CZ, Lok, Armanov, Eemann Tech and Boss Components.
  • G10 is a light composite with a strong texture. You can get Lok Mayhem G10 grips for the Shadow 2 Compact and Carry.
  • Polymer grips are the lightest. Toni System makes polymer grips for the full size frames.

The grips are made in the Czech Republic (CZ, KMR, Manul, Ascalon Arms), Italy (Toni System), Slovenia (Armanov), the US (Lok, Strike Industries, Magpul), Australia (Boss Components) and the EU (Eemann Tech).

Shape and thickness

Grip makers offer different profiles, so you can find the one that fits your hand. Toni System has the Classic, 3D, Production and Vibram series. Armanov has the Classic and Ergo series. Lok Gridlok grips have a palm swell profile, which fills the palm of your hand. Some grips come in several sizes:

  • Eemann Tech brass grips for the full size frames come in sizes S to XL, from 0.8 mm to 3.8 mm thick. A pair weighs from 136 g to 289 g.
  • Eemann Tech aluminium grips for the Shadow 2 Compact and Carry come in sizes S to XL, from 31.7 mm to 40.2 mm.

If you have small hands, choose a thin size. If you have large hands or want more weight, choose a thicker one.

Grips for polymer frame pistols

The CZ P-07, P-09 and P-10 have a polymer frame with a moulded grip, so there are no side panels to replace. Instead you can add Nexum grip tape from Manul. It has a Katana texture that gives you a firm hold without damaging your clothing. An alcohol wipe is included, so you can clean the frame before you apply it. For the P-10C you can also choose the Ascalon Arms comfort backstrap. It keeps the original shape, adds a grooved surface and has an internal compartment for one spare 9x19 round.

Grips for the Scorpion Evo 3

For the Scorpion Evo 3 and Evo 3+ you can replace the whole pistol grip. The Strike Industries Enhanced and Non-Slip grips have a more upright 15 degree angle. The Magpul grip builds on the MOE AR and AK grips and has a larger angle. If you prefer an AR-15 grip, you can fit it with an adapter from Ascalon Arms in polymer or from Strike Industries in aluminium. Manul also makes Nexum grip tape for the Scorpion pistol grip, magwell and base pads.

Installation

You can change grip panels on a CZ with a steel frame at home. You need only a screwdriver that fits the grip screws. Two installation screws come with most grips.

  1. Unload the pistol and remove the magazine.
  2. Unscrew the grip screw on each side and remove the old panels.
  3. Place the new panels on the frame.
  4. Tighten the screws firmly, but do not overtighten them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the grips on my CZ at home?

Yes, on CZ pistols with a steel frame. You need only a screwdriver.

  1. Unload the pistol and remove the magazine.
  2. Unscrew the grip screw on each side.
  3. Put the new panels on and tighten the screws.

On the polymer frame P-07, P-09 and P-10 you add grip tape instead.

Do grips from one CZ model fit another CZ model?

Yes, if the frames are the same. All full size grips fit the CZ 75, CZ 75B, SP-01, SP-01 Shadow, Shadow 2 and TS 2. The Shadow 2 Compact and Carry, the P-01 and CZ 75 Compact, and the CZ 97 need their own grips.

Which grips do I need if I want a magwell on my CZ?

Short grips. Long grips reach to the bottom of the frame, where the magwell sits. Choose from Short grips [with magwell], or buy a set of short grips and a magwell.

Which grip material should I choose for my CZ?

Choose brass for the most weight and the least muzzle movement. Choose aluminium for a rigid grip with less weight. Choose G10 or polymer for the lightest grip.
