The CZ P-07 is a very popular, versatile polymer model. Thanks to its more compact dimensions, it can be carried concealed, while also being comfortable to shoot at the range. It is used by some armed forces as a service pistol. The weapon is durable yet lighter than all-steel models, which makes it better suited for EDC.
Holster specifically for your CZ model
Holsters for each model are manufactured extra according to a precise mold or last so that the weapon fits into them perfectly.
In this category, you will find holsters specifically for the CZ P-07 model in the factory version, or equipped with a red dot (you can find out if the holster is compatible with a red dot in the item description).
If you install a suppressor, flashlight, or other accessories on the weapon that significantly change its profile, it will no longer fit into a standard holster.
How to choose the right holster for your pistol? We will focus on that in this article.
Leather or kydex?
In our offer, you will find holsters made of kydex or leather. From our own experience and the feedback of our customers, we have concluded that these are the two most sensible materials for manufacturing pistol holsters. They are very different, but both perform their function excellently.
Choose according to your personal preferences. To make your decision easier, go through the characteristics of both materials.
Kydex holsters
Advantages:
-
Constant shape: It does not stretch, loosen, or compress. The holster remains open, and you can easily return the pistol to it with one hand.
-
Safety: The weapon is held firmly inside. You can recognize the correct seating by the characteristic "click" you hear after insertion.
-
Fast draw: Kydex has only minimal resistance; it does not stick to the weapon like leather. You only have to overcome resistance in the first moment so that the holster expands where it embraces the trigger guard; after that, it comes out completely smoothly. You will appreciate this in situations where seconds count.
-
Easy maintenance: Or rather, zero maintenance. You just need to wipe the holster with a damp cloth.
-
"Indestructibility": The material resists sun, sweat, frost, oil, and most chemicals.
Disadvantages:
-
Discomfort: The larger the pistol, the more likely you are to feel the discomfort of hard plastic. This is further emphasized by IWB holsters. However, it also depends on your physical constitution. The degree of discomfort is difficult to measure in this case.
-
Weapon wear: Abrasion may occur in places where the weapon rubs against the holster (on the trigger guard and on the edges of the slide).
-
Our tip: Holsters from RH Holsters have a very smooth finish inside, which minimizes this issue.
Leather holsters
Advantages:
-
Comfort: The greatest benefit. Leather is a pleasant and soft material that adapts to the body and the weapon, and it does not press even when you have the weapon on your body all day.
-
Protects the weapon's surface: It does not abrade the weapon like plastic.
-
Style: Leather looks stylish and elegant.
Disadvantages:
-
Maintenance: Leather is malleable and adaptable, but it also works and requires proper care – treatment with special leather products so that it does not crack or dry out, or conversely, cleaning if it soaks up sweat.
-
Flexibility: Over time, it may happen that you will need both hands when returning the pistol to the holster because the leather softens so much that the opening "flattens" after drawing.
-
Requires time: A new holster may be tighter and it then takes a longer time before it yields and the weapon can be drawn and inserted easily. After a longer time, there is a risk of stretching and greater play.
Summary
Kydex holsters are easy to maintain, and the typical click reassures you that the weapon is safely stored in the holster. They do not loosen, deform, and they hold their shape.
For those who prefer a classic material, leather is ideal. Additionally, its softness and flexibility provide maximum comfort. It is more prone to stretching and more demanding in terms of maintenance.
IWB or OWB?
You can carry the pistol on the outer side of the waist (OWB – outside the waistband) or on the inner side of the trousers (IWB – inside the waistband). Each holster can only be worn in one of these ways, and a different style suits everyone.
IWB holsters guarantee maximum discrete carry. These holsters are suitable when you want the weapon to be as inconspicuous as possible. An OWB holster does not hide the weapon as well; however, it ensures better and faster access to it.
Choose based on personal preferences
The choice of a suitable holster depends not only on facts; it is primarily about personal preferences. These include your relationship to individual materials and carrying styles, how you use the weapon, as well as your physique and which holster is most comfortable for you to wear.
