To get a red dot mounted to your CZ P10S you first need to double check which version of CZ P10S you have.
Do you have optics ready or classic version of CZ P10S?
Not sure? This photo may help. The optics ready version has a cut in the slide.
Another difference is that CZ optics ready variant has a rear sight dovetail cut moved further into the back in order to make place for the optic cut in front of it.
Based on which model you have, there are two possible ways how to install a red dot to your P10S:
- through CZ P10S optic plate for optics ready or
- through CZ P10S red dot mount for classic.
Ready further to make sure you get the proper device for your needs.
Mounting a red dot to CZ P10S Optics Ready [CZ P10S OR]
For optics ready version you will need to get a matching optic plate.
To install such plate, you will first need to remove the slide cut cover [in red in the first photo] by unscrewing the screws.
Once the plate is removed, clean the surface, apply blue loctite on the screws, place the optic plate in a way that the ramp is in the front, and screw the screws in. We recommend 1.3 Nm torque.
Optic plates arrive always with screws that hold the plate to the slide. To install a red dot to the plate, you need to use screws that are to be incldued with the red dot.
Do not be surprised if you find more sets of screws in the red dot box. Usually that is to accomodate the red dot to different mounting devices [picatinny mount vs optic plate]
Once the plate is fixed, you are ready to go on and install the red to the plate. As with the screws that hold the plate to the slide, the screws that hold the red dot to the plate shall be loctited as well.
How to mount a red dot to classic CZ P10S
For classic CZ P10S models there is also a way how to mount a red dot. However, instead of an optic plate you will need a red dot mount.
These mounts work as a replacement of a rear sight in its dovetail cut, so basically installing a red dot mount is very similar to replacing the rear sight. If you do not experience with doing it few times, we highly recommend leaving this part of the work to an experienced gunsmith.
These mounts can come in two variants: a) as universal mounts, with a set of pins and screws to accomodate different footprints, or b) as mounts for specific footprint. On our website you can find both types from different manufacturers.
Once the red dot mount is in the proper position in the dovetail cut, you shall fix it with the included screws and go on with installing a red dot to the mount.
