CZ magazine base pads compatibility

To navigate yourself within the magazine base pads for CZs its good to be aware of the CZ magazine compatibilityCZ TS 2 magwell

When looking for new magazine base pad, its always needed to take into consideration whether you will ever use magwell on the gun.

Mag pads from factory, and also many aftermarket mag pads, are made long in order to flush with the grip. If you want to use magwell though, you need to have shorter mag pads. Such mag pads are only shorter in the front. On sides the pads are still flush with the grip, it is only the front of the mag pad that is shorter in order to fit magwell.

In the description of each mag pad on our web you can see whether these are designed to work with magwell or not. Also ti will be visible from its appearance - mag pads compatible with magwells are simply shorter.

3 types of CZ magazine base pads

When it comes to mag pads, you can find 3 different bases for mag pad installation. That does not mean there are only 3 different magazines, there are much more, but the bottoms of the magaztines are made in 3 ways:

  • CZ 75 type mag pads - that includes mag pads for CZ P01, CZ Shadow 2, CZ SP01, CZ 75, CZ 75 Compact
  • CZ TS type mag pads - that includes mag pads for CZ TS 2 models (CZ TS 2 Orange, CZ TS 2 Racing Green & other) and CZ Tactical Sports models (CZ 75 Tactical Sports, CZ TS Orange, CZ TS Czechmate)
  • CZ polymer models type mag pads - that includes mag pads for CZ P10 models (excl CZ P10M which has thinner magazine), CZ P07 and CZ P09

Please note that we do not say that mag pads for these models are the same shape etc, just that you can install mag pads on CZ models within the same group - i.e. mag pads from CZ P-07 you can install on CZ P-10S.

Basically if the magazine works for two different CZs, the magazine base pads will work similarly for both CZs. And since mag pads dont need to consider the size of the gun (CZ 75B vs CZ 75 Compact), you can select from more magazine base pads than from magazines.

Magazine pads of this type can be used on following magazines:

These mag pads also come in many variants:

CZ polymer models type mag pads

CZ polymer models use interchangeable magazines - they have the same width and magazine base mounting. *Exception is CZ P-10M which uses single stack magazine - for CZ P10M there are these +1 mag pads available only*

Individual CZ polymer models haver differently shaped grip and thus mag pads that are not compatible with magwell (i.e. are made to flush with grip) will not look very good if used on wrong model - it could exceed the grip in front or be shorter than the grip. However you can still mount those.

For example mag pad for CZ P-07 and mag pad for CZ P-10 & CZ P-09 are shaped slightly different. You can  mount them interchangeably but they will not flush with the front of the grip if used on the other model.

If the mag pads are made to work magwell (i.e. are shorter) then the mag pads will not flush with the grip anyway and you can install them interchangeably.

Mag pads of this type can be used on the following magazines:

CZ TS type magazine base pads

CZ TS and CZ TS 2 mag pads are all made to work with magwell. They use thicker magazines compared to CZ 75 type mag pads and thus also different mag pads from other models.

All these mag pads are the same and you thus dont have to worry whether they will fit your model. As long as your model belongs to the CZ TS 2 momodels (CZ TS 2, CZ TS 2 Orange, CZ TS 2 Racing Green & other) or CZ TS models (CZ TS Orange, CZ TS Czechmate, CZ Tactical Sports).

Mag pads for pinned magazines

If your magazine is pinned for 10rnd, most of the time it does not change anything when it comes to mag pad compatibility.

As long as the spring goes down to the mag pad bottom to hold the plate of mag pad, they will fit regardless if they are pinned from full capacity to limited capacity or not.

And just for clarity - the capacity of the pinned magazine does not change regardless of the mag pad size - the pinning is made from the top of the magazine and therefore its capacity still remains the same as before. That means that the mags will remain in the same legal category even with extended mag pads installed.
