Rimfire CZ 457 rifles in calibers .22 WMR and .17 HMR outperform those in .22 LR in performance. They have a longer effective range and higher energy, suitable both for sport shooting and for hunting small game at longer distances. Shooters particularly seek the .17 HMR caliber for precise, accurate shooting.
Compatibility of magazines CZ 457 magazines | 22 WMR / 17 HMR
In this category you will find magazines intended for CZ 457 rimfire rifles in 22 WMR (Magnum) / .17 HMR caliber.
Magazines are suitable for both calibers. However, each firearm is chambered for a specific caliber only. Magazines from this category cannot be interchanged with magazines for the .22 LR caliber.
Material and capacity of magazines
Choose from lightweight polymer magazines for 5 or 10 rounds. Thanks to the polymer construction the magazines do not increase the weight of the firearm and thus contribute to comfortable carrying and handling.
Why look for a new magazine?
There may be several reasons why you purchase a new magazine:
-
Wear: even if you clean the magazine regularly and thoroughly, it is a consumable and is subject to wear. A new magazine therefore guarantees quality and reliability.
-
Damage: due to rough handling, a fall or pressure, damage may occur.
-
More magazines = more convenience: You usually receive two magazines with the firearm as standard. Constantly replenishing them will, however, slow you down; it is much more convenient and efficient to acquire more units that you simply reload.
-
Increased capacity: You can put more rounds into a longer magazine.
-
Material: Depending on the model, you were supplied from the factory with either a polymer or a steel magazine. It may not suit you in terms of weight, tactile feel or simply visually.
Tips for magazine maintenance
For the reliability and long service life of the magazine it is important to maintain it regularly and correctly. How to make the magazine serve you long and well?
1. Regularly clean
After every use in the field or at the range remove the spring, follower, clean from dust and lubricant residues.
2. Do not over-lubricate
Apply quality lubricant only in a thin layer. Too much oil attracts excess dust and there is a risk of feeding failure.
3. Regularly check the spring and follower
Rimfire magazines more often crack or deform because the magazine partially protrudes. Pay attention to checking for defects before each action and possibly also during it, for example if a drop occurs. Keep a spare magazine at hand just in case.
4. Do not carry a magazine loaded to full capacity for long periods
A constantly compressed spring wears out more easily and stops functioning properly.
