From the factory, CZ pistols come equipped with a universal grip of medium thickness designed to offer a relatively comfortable hold for both smaller and larger hands. However, many CZ owners choose to replace the grips, either for practical reasons or for aesthetics.

Why replace your grips?

1. Improved grip control

The thickness of the grip significantly affects how firmly you can hold the pistol, which plays a key role in firearm control. Shooters with smaller hands tend to replace factory grips with thinner ones, while those with larger hands often opt for thicker grips.

2. Preference for a different material

If you use your firearm for everyday carry (EDC) or self-defense, you’ll likely prefer a lightweight grip—typically made from polymer or aluminum. For sport shooting, a heavier grip made from brass is more suitable, as it improves stability and provides better shooting feedback. (More on grip materials below.)

3. Aesthetic preferences

Your firearm can reflect your personal style. Replacing the grips allows you to easily alter the look of your CZ to make it unique. Choose from a variety of colors and surface finishes.

What’s the difference between long and short grips?

The answer is quite simple: it depends on whether or not you plan to use a magwell. A magwell is an add-on component that flares the magazine well opening, allowing for faster and easier reloads. It’s especially popular in sport shooting disciplines such as IPSC or USPSA.

You essentially have two options:

No Magwell / Don’t plan to use one → Choose long grips.

Have or plan to use a magwell → Choose short grips.

That’s all there is to it :)

NOTE: Compact does not mean “short”

We’ve encountered cases where customers requested short grips for their CZ Compact models (CZ P-01, CZ 75 Compact, or CZ Shadow 2 Compact), even though they weren’t using a magwell. Their reasoning was likely: “compact model = short grip.”
This is incorrect.

For models like the CZ P-01 and CZ 75 Compact, we offer both long and short grips—again, depending on whether or not you intend to use a magwell.
As for the CZ Shadow 2 Compact, we currently only offer long grips.

What grip options do we offer?

We carry both OEM CZ grips and high-quality aftermarket grips from top firearm accessories brands such as Toni System (Italy), Eemann Tech, and LOK Grips (USA).

 By material

Grips vary not only in weight but also in durability. Here’s a breakdown of the most common materials and their key properties:

Aluminum

Pros: Lightweight, available in many shapes, colors, and finishes
Cons: More prone to scratching, less recoil absorption
Recommended Use: Sport shooting (if you prefer a lighter setup), self-defense, EDC

Polymer

Pros: Lightweight, crack and corrosion resistant, affordable and low maintenance
Cons: Less premium appearance
Recommended Use: Self-defense, EDC, ideal for beginners

Brass

Pros: Rigid and highly durable, distributes firearm weight effectively, enhances grip stability, excellent shooting feedback, visually attractive
Cons: Heavier and more expensive
Recommended Use: Sport shooting, when the shooter needs enhanced control and grip precision

By firearm model

The specific grip compatibility depends on your CZ model. Here's what we offer:

Long Grips Available For:

Short Grips Available For:

By size

Standard grips are designed to fit an average-sized hand. However, some shooters may benefit from a more tailored grip thickness:

Larger hands / Tighter grip needs: Choose grips with a thicker profile, such as 3D contour grips from Toni System.

Smaller hands / Concealed carry: Consider thin-profile grips, which also reduce the overall dimensions of the pistol—ideal for concealed carry.

Some brands offer all three grip sizes—thin, standard, and thick—allowing you to choose the perfect fit for your shooting style and hand size. For example, Armanov grips come in various widths to ensure a truly ergonomic experience.

Can I replace the grips myself?

Yes, you can easily swap out your grips at home using a small screwdriver or allen key.
