Long grips are designed to work without magwell. If you need grips to work with magwell, check short grips instead.
Grips with 3D profile for larger hands✔️ Grips with thinner profile for normal hands✔️ Various colors, excellent quality✔️
There are two types of grips: long and short. The only difference between them is that long grips are intended for pistols without a magwell, while short grips are designed to be used with a magwell (they are shorter by the height of the magwell). Don't look for any other differences.
If you’ve recently purchased a new CZ pistol, it comes without a magwell by default. The only exception is the CZ TS 2, which comes factory-equipped with a magwell. However, this magwell can be removed.
If you plan to use your pistol without a magwell, you’re in the right category – choose long grips.
Before diving into grips, let’s look at what installing a magwell does to your pistol:
Increased weight: A magwell is a metal accessory and therefore adds extra weight. This can be both an advantage and a disadvantage depending on the context. In competition shooting, the extra weight at the rear helps with recoil control and improves overall pistol stability. On the other hand, for daily carry, shooters tend to prefer the lightest setup possible.
Improved reload speed: A magwell enlarges the magazine well opening, making reloads faster and easier.
Ultimately, the decision is yours and will likely depend on the primary purpose of your firearm.
Important: Long grips also fit compact models
We’ve encountered cases where customers were looking for short grips for their Compact CZ models (e.g., CZ P-01, CZ 75 Compact, or CZ Shadow 2 Compact) even though they did not intend to install a magwell. The assumption seems to be: Compact pistol = short grip. This is not the case.
For models like CZ P-01 and CZ 75 Compact, we offer both long and short grips – again, your choice depends on whether or not you’ll be using a magwell.
We stock original CZ grips as well as grips from leading firearm accessory manufacturers such as Toni System (Italy), Eemann Tech, and LOK Grips (USA).
By material
Each grip material varies in weight, durability, and handling characteristics. Here's a breakdown to help you choose:
Aluminum
Pros: Lightweight, available in various textures, colors, and finishes.
Cons: More prone to scratching, absorbs less recoil.
Recommended for: Sport shooting (when light weight is preferred), self-defense, EDC.
However, shooters with larger hands or those needing a firmer, fuller grip might benefit from 3D profile grips – like those from Toni System.
Shooters with smaller hands may prefer thin-profile grips, which also help with concealed carry and a more compact feel.
Some manufacturers offer all three grip thicknesses, allowing you to choose the best match for your hand size – for example, check out Armanov’s grip width options for a truly personalized fit.
